Empty Nesting

well there it is. sitting with nothing in it. In my car every morning, just waiting for a baby. I don't know why I'm so anxious....maybe since we have everything all set up and just waiting. We went to our last prenatal class on Monday, It was all about breastfeeding. Brandon was more bored in this class then any of the others! (funny, because it had like 90% more boobs then the other classes. I guess their not always a welcome sight. Go figure!) So now that the classes are over we must we completely ready for him and have all the answers ,right! right???

locked and loaded

Some of my friends at work threw a little fiesta and were able to raise enough to get Brandon and I the car seat and stroller we wanted! It was very nice of them. The people at my work are really friendly toward me!
It's not a fantastic photo but you can see just how huge I am getting! He is actually due July 14th so on Monday it will be 3 weeks left! I went for my exam yesterday and the Doctor said I am dilated to a "1" and effaced 75%. I know i just learned in prenatal class what that meant, but it is still a little confusing! She said that was a good place to be though. Things are working like they should. I have always loved the fourth of July and would think it would be so neat for him to come then, but I know that's probably a little too early. I have been experiencing Braxton hicks. It's all very exciting and scary!

Just Cheeky!

we attended the third prenatal class, I bet you guys are sick of hearing about them. It about made us sick this time too. No they weren't talking about nasty birthing stories, or crazy people they talked about insurance and hospital bills. Yeah, talk about making ya sick. No really ours won't be too bad, but gosh it seems like they will send you a $500 invoice for wiping down the doorknob.
Also other good news I woke up to Luke and a swollen cheek this morning. About 4 years ago Brandon and I thought it would be a great idea to buy a CHEAP dog and distract me from wanting to have kids for a little while. Love Luke, but he has been a vet's dream! Allergy shots, ear Hematomas, and now a swollen cheek. I was worried and frustrated at the same time, espically because it looked like it might be the result of a dental abscess! I clean his teeth myself! how dare he get a cavity! Brandon calmed me down, we took Luke in and the Dr found a Fox tail (splinter) on the inside of his cheek. I felt bad. So I know the photo doesn't show just how swollen he is,but you get the idea.

I need a Shower!

This weekend I got a big surprise! Heather flew up for the weekend for my baby shower! Brandon and Bill kept it a secret! It was so much fun having her come up and stay with us and see the house and Lovely Utah (I know she secretly wants to move to Utah now!). Here we are at Cabella's with the fish.....Yes we took her to Cabella's I swear she had fun! It just made me realize that if I need this much help preparing for Wyatt, I am going to need even more when he is here. I made her promise she'll be back in a couple of weeks before she left!

Sarah threw me A Baby shower! I loved it!!! My favorite part is when all the guests leave and it's just our best friends and family who stay after and hang out!( Not to say that the shower wasn't a wild party! I just love the yelling and naked kids and forgotten leftovers of the "afterparty") Heather and I got to hold Nickell and Aaron's baby Kade, which made us want to hold Wyatt! Beez was an awesome present recorder! It is so much fun to have childhood friends around. if I can't be close to my family I'm lucky to be close to them!

This is what we look like when the guests are here

And when they leave we party!

Thanks Guys! I know how much work is put into these things and I really apperciate it! Now we wait for him to get here......

touring

We had our second prenatal class this week. I am so glad Brandon has been coming with me! I know he must think it is so boring, but he hasn't said anything bad and has made it better than it would have been without him. They took us on a tour of the hospital! Yeah!! this is probably the numero uno reason I even signed up for a prenatal class! (and the instructor said they are not going to be doing it anymore so i was so happy we got in just in time!) The birthing rooms were Huge and gorgeous! But you only stay there until about two hours after their born (not worth staying in labor longer to be in the monster room!) Then they move you to a private (thank heavens!) recovery room that isn't as big, but still has the necessities. I'm glad I got to snoop around in the room before going to have him! I have decided from our class though that I will NEVER let someone tape one of my births and put into mass production for prenatal classes across America! ( On that note I will never let someone tape my birth) These videos they make us watch were definitely filmed in the 80's and the couples are always weird! The lady is always dramatic and just being weird, her husband is all patting her head and saying stupid things! I'm sure we will be dramatic and stupid, but at least it won't be on tape for everyone to see. We'll keep our crazy to ourselves thank you!

Prenatal class

We went to the first of four prenatal classes on Monday. I don't know how every other couple in that class wasn't laughing their butts off! They made you close your eyes and your "labor coach" tried to talk you down from an imaginary painful childbirth. Brandon just kept quietly laughing and saying mockingly "your doing great honey almost there!" I'm sure I will get my revenge someday. He actually did pretty good for what the class was. The nurse teaching the class gave some good hints on when to come to the hospital and what real labor felt like. At one point she said " We used to bring in real afterbirth/placenta until they required us to keep that in the refrigerator." Brandon and I looked at each other in disgust! I guess her sewn fake "placenta" would have to do. We just seemed like the only ones who thought the whole thing was pretty funny! We also went for a routine checkup, Wyatt is doing great and growing, only 6 weeks left. Everyone at work keeps saying "how close" and I keep thinking yeah right that's far away!
